TypesCancer
Cancer is a disease for which some cells of the body multiply uncontrollably and spread to other parts of the body.
Cancer can start anywhere in the human body, made up of trillions of cells. Under normal conditions, human cells form and multiply (through a process called cell division) to form new cells as the body needs them. When cells get old or damaged, they die and are replaced by new cells.
Sometimes the process does not follow this order and abnormal cells or damaged cells form and multiply when they should not. These cells may form tumors, which are lumps of tissue. Tumors are cancerous (evil) or non-cancerous (benign).
